Our comfortable self-catering
lodge is set in lovely, peaceful surroundings in the Shropshire
Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With wonderful panoramic
views over Shropshire and across to the Welsh Mountains, it
is situated in its own secluded spot on our smallholding next
to the Stiperstones Nature Reserve - ideal for walking, riding,
mountain biking, birdwatching or just taking it easy and enjoying
the scenery.
In addition, there are plenty
of things to do and see within a short drive (leaflets available
within the lodge); or you may wish to try the "shuttle
bus" for a scenic ride around the area.

The Lodge can comfortably sleep 4 people
or up to 6 people using the sofa beds. It has one double bedroom,
a bunk bedroom and two double bed settees. It also has a shower
room, galley kitchen (fully fitted and including full size gas
cooker, microwave, fridge, etc.) and comfortable lounge. Energy
efficient underfloor heating is available for colder weather.
Most of our visitors like a break from TV
but we can provide one if required. Full
cooking facilities are provided but for those not wanting to
spend holiday time cooking, there are several worthwhile local
pubs serving food at reasonable prices.

We have embraced sustainability
as much as possible in the building and running of the Lodge.
It is built using British timber from a renewable source and is
energy-saving by being double glazed and well insulated throughout.
Low energy light bulbs are fitted
wherever possible and we provide eco-friendly cleaning products
and kitchen/toilet rolls from recycled paper. Electricity is from
a renewable energy source.
The domestic hot water is currently
heated by mains electricity but the system is designed to be combined
with solar panels in the near future.

It goes without saying that rubbish
is sorted and much of it recycled, either via South Shropshire
District Councils collection service (paper, cans, glass)
or by ourselves (recyclable plastics to local facility, vegetable
waste to our compost bins). We collect rainwater from the roof
for watering plants and for our poultry to drink.
For those bird watchers amongst
you, bird feeders are supplied. In addition to a wide variety
of birds in this secluded spot, you may be lucky enough to see
a badger or a fox, whereas rabbits are a certainty.

We welcome pets but because
of livestock would request that these are kept well under control
(please bring your own pet beds and dishes).
If you wish to bring your
own bikes, we can provide secure storage for them.
