We have embraced sustainability as much as possible in the building and running of the Lodge.

  • Built using British timber from a renewable source
  • Energy-saving double glazing and well insulated throughout.
  • Low energy light bulbs wherever possible
  • Low energy underfloor heating
  • Electricity from a renewable energy source
  • Eco-friendly cleaning products and kitchen/toilet rolls from recycled paper
  • Domestic hot water designed to be combined with solar panels in the near future
  • Rubbish recycled wherever possible (glass, cans, paper, vegetable waste, cardboard and some plastics)
  • Rainwater from roof collected for watering plants and for our poultry to drink

This is a very secluded spot and we encourage wildlife:

  • Birdwatching - bird feeders supplied to encourage a range of birds
  • You may be lucky enough to see a badger or a fox, whereas rabbits are a certainty
  • Sited right next to Stiperstones National Nature Reserve
  • In the heart of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
  • Fantastic walking and riding country
